Description

Dear colleagues,
Dear friends,

We cordially invite you to our breast MRI courses. Werner Kaiser himself, the inventor of breast MRI, introduced us to “his” method some 20 years ago. Over one decade we were part of his core team. Here we gained extensive first-hand knowledge from Werner. Ever since then, breast MRI has been at the very center of our comprehensive activities. Meanwhile we have joined the small circle of internationally recognized top experts in breast MRI.

Since the very beginning of our activities, we have been jointly committed to scientifically sound, clinically relevant and didactically polished teaching in breast MRI. The enthusiastic feedback from our participants motivates us to constantly improve our courses.

Here comes the story behind our breast MRI courses: A coherent teaching on highest scientific, clinical and teaching standards. And most of all: You will have fun!

Our courses are designed as a sequel (Basic, Advanced, Expert). In case you book more than one course together, you receive a 20% bundle-discount. Depending on your previous knowledge and interest, you may, of course, attend any course individually.

We are looking forward to welcoming you soon at the School of Radiology!

Yours,
Pascal Baltzer and Matthias Dietzel

Expert Course

In our Basic and Advanced Courses, you will receive a comprehensive foundation for your hands-on practice in Breast MRI. These courses are offered multiple times a year, with consistent content to ensure a structured and practice-oriented learning experience.

Our Expert Courses, on the other hand, are designed as a continuously evolving series. Each year, we premiere a new episode featuring special focus topics that explore clinically and diagnostically challenging aspects of breast MRI in greater depth.

This is Episode 3 of our “Breast MRI Expert Course” series. The focus is on BI-RADS 3, risk-adapted diagnostics according to BI-RADS v2025, imaging of mastitis including the differential diagnosis of inflammatory breast cancer, and lymph node assessment. You will learn how to systematically classify complex findings in daily practice and derive evidence based management decisions.

A warm-up session with a comprehensive literature BI-RADS update and fine-tuning tips prepares you for the main sessions. The course concludes with our famous breast MRI Rodeo: a fast-paced review of challenging cases covering the full spectrum of breast MRI. This is an ideal opportunity to consolidate your knowledge and to train sharpen your diagnostic skills.

Concept

1

This is the third part of our course series on breast MRI. Advanced knowledge in breast MRI is required. We recommend: Join our basic and advanced course as a combo to prepare for this course (20% bundle discount).
3

Impulse lectures: Here we provide you first hand expert knowledge combining state of the art clinical skills and latest scientific evidence.
4

40 interactive case discussions: The heart of all our courses. Supported by online polls you will first interpret each case on your own. Then we will discuss each case in the group. None of your question will left unanswered. Promised!

Objectives

1

Warm-up: Breast MRI fine-tuning and BI-RADS 2025 update
This session updates your knowledge of BI-RADS 2025 and provides a deep dive into the fundamentals of breast MRI.
2

BI-RADS 3: decision-making in the diagnostic gray zone
BI-RADS 3 is a tricky category. You will learn how to apply the BI-RADS 3 concept consistently and assess borderline findings in a structured manner. This enables clear follow-up strategies and transparent management decisions in daily clinical practice.
3

From imaging to biology: risk-adapted diagnostics according to BI-RADS 2025
You will learn to classify lesions as low or intermediate risk and to differentiate them from minimal disease and clinically significant cancer. Driven by BI-RADS 2025, this approach supports confident, evidence-based management recommendations in the tumor board.
4

Mastitis or inflammatory breast cancer?
You will receive a structured overview of the broad spectrum of mastitis and its typical imaging patterns. A particular focus is on reliable differentiation from inflammatory breast cancer and on the role of diffusion-weighted imaging in optimal patient management.
5

Lymph node assessment: optimal imaging and confident diagnosis according to BI-RADS 2025
This session focuses on axillary imaging in breast MRI. You will optimize protocols, apply Node-RADS in line with BI-RADS 2025, and give evidence-based management recommendations, enabling reliable lymph node assessment and clear clinical guidance.
6

Finale: Breast MRI Rodeo
In the final session, you will refine fast and precise reporting using cases from the full spectrum of breast MRI. This strengthens diagnostic confidence, speed, and consistency in the long term.

Target audience

Residents, technicians, radiographers: discount!

3

LEVEL 1 (Beginner):
This course is not designed for beginners in breast MRI. Please attend our advanced and basic course first (bundle discount).
4

LEVEL 2 (Advanced):
This course is also suitable for advanced users of breast MRI.
However, we strongly recommend you to join our advanced course and basic course first (bundle discount).
